Split handouts
Split two-page or four-slide handouts into separate pages with custom cuts and reading order.
How to turn a four-slide handout into individual pages
Use this when several slides or book pages share one PDF page and are too small to read. Splitting the visible regions gives each slide its own page without taking screenshots.
Example: a 10-page lecture handout
If every source page contains four slides, choosing the four-part grid for all 10 pages produces 40 pages. With row order, each source page becomes top left, top right, bottom left, then bottom right. Check the numbered preview before exporting.
Choose the layout, then check the order
Open the handout
Choose your PDF or try the built-in four-slide sample. Select side-by-side, stacked or four-part layout to match the original.
Adjust the cuts and reading order
Drag the preview cuts or use the sliders to avoid cutting through content. Choose row, column or right-to-left order. Apply the settings to all pages, or process only the current preview page when layouts differ.
Generate, inspect and download
Split the PDF, inspect several output pages and check their sequence. Download the new file and keep the original. Use the page organizer afterwards if individual pages need reordering.
Before you split
- The local input limit is 40 MB and 200 pages. A four-part split creates four output pages for each selected source page.
- One set of cuts is used for the selected source pages. Mixed layouts need separate passes; the tool does not automatically detect slide borders.
- Original text and vector content can remain text and vectors, but a scanned image does not become editable text. Forms, annotations and digital signatures may not be preserved.
- Splitting and cropping are not secure redaction. Content outside a visible region may remain recoverable; do not use this to remove secrets.
